Did you know that the most sensitive parts of your body are your hands, lips, face, neck, tongue, fingertips and feet? The sensation of touch is a fundamental part of our daily experience, influencing what we buy, who we love and even how we heal. Hands play a very important part of that experience so today we'll discuss the proper way of showing love to our hands which, in return, help us experience life. Finding a perfect hand cream is more complicated than one might think as many hand creams are too rich resulting in a sticky, tacky film and some even pill. I've encountered hand creams that leave a white cast, some are unpleasantly fragranced and some even dry out the skin. Following three hand creams are just perfect and they simply differ based on your skin type.
Skin care is a very important thing for me and prevention of any skin irregularities and battling the existing issues consumes the bulk of my thoughts and time I invest in beauty-related matters. For reference, my skin has transformed from acne-prone and oily to normal/dehydrated with tendency to get clogged by certain formulas (ingredients). That's the type and the issues are dark under-eye circles (courtesy of night shifts) and first wrinkles (courtesy of ageing). I have been unsatisfied with the state of my complexion six months ago, particularly with progression of wrinkles (on the forehead and around the mouth) probably in correlation with thinning skin and dehydrated skin type.
I'm such a self-proclaimed chocolate junkie and even though I sometimes indulge in milk chocolate I must admit that darker ones with higher cocoa percentage (min 70%) my taste buds are actually more appreciative of. I love the rich cocoa aroma and the slight bitterness which goes so well with peanut butter. Even if I haven't baked any cakes I certainly have some dark chocolate in the kitchen plus a spoon of peanut butter equals heaven. I also love pairing the two with bananas so a creation of banana bread was in the cards.
I've been making investments and I've been committed to that for awhile now. You know how they say a high-quality leather bag/ boots/ jacket are an investment? A good coat, a fitted pair of jeans or that perfect silky white blouse are all investment pieces. I've been thinking about my skincare and makeup in similar terms and I've acted upon those thoughts.
I think you'll agree when I say that everything about L'Occitane Terre de Lumiere oozes elegance and beauty. Without even knowing the backstory (you can read about it here) the warm, contrasting hues of pale gold and fiery amber look stunning. Pebble-shaped bottle and cap give off an almost natural, earthy feel whilst looking impeccably elegant. The olfactory pyramid is also consisted of beautiful notes but don't be fooled - inside this sophisticated aesthetic lies a true beast!
Being a foodie myself, I was very happy when more and more people started to react so well to my food-related posts. Since I wasn't famous for my cooking skills before, it was extremely encouraging to read all the nice comments and they certainly were a great motivation to keep learning more about food and nutrition. One of the things that have recently piqued your interest were snaps of my smoothie bowls. How to make one?
I felt quite uninspired make-up wise lately and everything I've been seeing online and in my make-up stash left me either overwhelmed or underwhelmed. It was the bulk of things I owned that made me feel like I never have anything to wear, yet there were boxes upon boxes of make-up. On the other hand, not a new release I saw online has intrigued me or kick-started interest. So I've had a good old make-up clearout - and this time I was brutal. Interestingly, I've left only a few eye shadow palettes, I have to buy a mascara since only one has remained and the majority of my make-up consists of face and lip products. Lipsticks are definitely ruling the roost!
Bruno Banani's slogan is "not for everyone" and that probably is the case. I was always a bit skeptic due to the extremely simplistic design but - the devilish evoking advertisement kept me curious. With the newest launch I was given a chance to finally test and make my own mind about Bruno Banani. Although German Bruno Banani doesn't evolve such an excitement as Christian Dior or Chanel, it is worthwile trying and seriously considering during summer seasons.
In the era of internet, busy lifestyles, too much workload and everything being just too much an average Joe can handle, books seem to be forgotten. And that's a shame as I, for one, certainly have missed their presence in my thoughts and life in general. Most people will tell you books are special because it definitely isn't the same to read something on your laptop (no matter how handy pdf's really are) and to hold a book in your hands. There's that beautiful smell of paper, feeling the paper under your fingertips and the way you can "hear" the writer's voice much clearer through a real book.
March? Spring on the way? Yes, give me more of that! My skincare routine and generally the way I take care of myself needs to change, asap! And you know me, I'm all about that natural beauty so L'Occitane is a no-brainer shop stop for me.
